Dominique Sottiaux

Began studying music at the Conservatoire communal de La Louvière in Belgium where he learned clarinet and piano obtainning the Governement Medal for clarinet and chamber music.

Continuing at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons he kept winning first prizes particularly for clarinet and also the Eb clarinet at the same time reaching the Superior degree for chamber music.

Later he was awarded for Saxo at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He remains as clarinet player by the most famous Belgian orchestras but also appears as soloist not only in his own country, he is warmly acclaimed in Europe and Japan.

Dominique Sottiaux is still teaching in several music schools and since 2009 is in charge of Conservatoire communal de la Louvière.

He presently retains as conductor of various ochestras, symphonic bands as well as principal leadership of "Orchestre Symphonique 1900" performing less known light or dancing music from the end of 19th, early 20th century.

The Dominique Sottiaux CD includes both, his soloist as well as his work as conductor.
