MAGLIONY MÁRQUEZ
plays on the RZ Orchestra

A Colombian clarinetist with over 14 years of experience playing the E-flat clarinet as a solo instrument, promoting and spreading the clarinet and E-flat clarinet repertoire on national and international stages. His innovative musical approach has led him to participate in academic events, clarinet festivals, and solo performances in countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Brazil, presenting concerts that feature a high percentage of Latin American and Colombian music for clarinet, as well as original works for the E-flat clarinet.
He is currently a professor of clarinet at the University of Cauca, an artist for the RZ Clarinets brand, and a freelance performer on both clarinet and piccolo clarinet. For nearly 15 years, he was a member of the Banda Departamental del Valle del Cauca, serving as principal clarinet with piccolo duties, and he continues to be invited as a supernumerary player when needed.
His musical project aims to consolidate the piccolo clarinet as a solo instrument with its own identity, emphasizing its unique tonal qualities, sound, and technique. At the same time, it seeks to expand the horizons of clarinetists and arrangers, encouraging the creation of new possibilities for interpreting and developing the instrument’s original repertoire.
Magliony currently plays on the RZ Orchestra clarinet.
