Koji Miura

Koji Miura was born in Aichi, Japan.
He studied clarinet at Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo with Prof. Kálmán Berkes from 1994 to 1998. After graduation, he began to work in Tokyo on the orchestra, wind orchestra and chambergroup as the clarinetist.
From January 2003, he studied in Freiburg, Germany with Prof. Jörg Widmann. He had played for some concerts in Germany, hosted by "Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft Freiburg im Breisgau e.V." and so on.

After return to Japan, he developed the activity as a musician. He makes it to the President of the Nagoya Wind Symphony that is only large professional Wind Orchestra of the provinces. And he planned "Perseus / Satoshi Yagisawa works collection" as CD recording of his band. The produced CD caught the high evaluation, and it was recommended for (Premier Discby) magazine "record art". And it received high acclaim from each district.

Recently, he develops remarkable activity around the world. As a soloist, he had performed with many bands, including Republic of China Air Force Band (Taiwan), Taoyuan Ji-Yin Wind Ensemble (Taiwan), Hong Kong Band Directors Wind Orchestra (Hong Kong), Nontri Orchestra Winds(Thailand) and NTU Symphonic Band (Singapore). From 2013 he began to conduct on abroad. He had conducted and got success with NTU Symphonic Band at Esplanade Hall in Singapore. Also he is enthusiastic about music education. He had many lecture to educational institution all over the world, including Hofstra University (USA), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Shobi College of Music (Japan).
