JÔNATAS ZACARIAS – BRAZIL
Born in Paulista-PE, Jônatas Zacarias holds a Master’s Degree in Musical Interpretation from
the Universidade Federal da Bahia (under the guidance of Dr. Pedro Robatto), a Degree in
Music, cum laude, from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, and is Specialized in
Instrument Pedagogy from the same institution. He has a certificate in Clarinet from the
Centro Profissionalizante de Criatividade Musical do Recife. Jônatas Zacarias has performed as
soloist with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Recife, Orquestra de Câmara de Pernambuco,
Orquestra Jovem do Conservatório Pernambucano de Música, and Orquestra Sinfônica da
Universidade Federal da Bahia, in addition to performing recitals in several cities in Brazil,
United States and Paraguay, as a member of the clarinet quartet “Sopros de Pernambuco”.
Clarinet enthusiast, he coordinated the VIII and XIII Brazilian Meeting of Clarinetists and the 1st
Pernambucano Meeting of Clarinetists (2019). He is currently clarinetist of the Orquestra
Sinfônica do Recife and Orquestra de Câmara de Pernambuco, member of the Clarinet Quartet
“Sopros de Pernambuco”, and clarinet teacher at the Conservatório Pernambucano de Música.
